GAP-APP: Pancreatic Cancer Survival Prediction

To Our Users

Gap-App is a free, online tool designed specifically for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) patients and their care providers. As the first platform bridging complex genomic data with clinical application, Gap-App helps facilitate more precise and individualized cancer care. The model achieves an accuracy of 90.33% for males and 90.40% for females on the training dataset, and 81.25% and 89.47%, respectively, on an independent dataset. To ensure privacy and ease of use, Gap-App does not require users to log in. The app operates with just two inputs:

Your sex
Gene expression data from an RNA-Seq test targeting the whole transcriptome

Using this information, Gap-App predicts your 3-year survival outcome from the date your gene expression data is collected. Your privacy is fully protected, as no personal or identifiable information is collected or stored, ensuring a completely anonymous experience.

Gap-App Usage Agreement

This Usage Agreement ("Agreement") is between the user ("User") and Gap-App ("we", "us", "our"), collectively referred to as the "Parties". By accessing, using, or submitting gene expression data through our machine learning model for pancreatic cancer survival prediction, User agrees to be bound by the terms and conditions set forth herein.

1. Data Submission and Ownership:
The User represents that they are the legitimate owner or have rightful access to the gene expression data provided for analysis. The User agrees to comply with all applicable laws and regulations concerning the submission and analysis of the data. It is important to note that only gender and gene expression data are necessary to use Gap-App service, ensuring the data remains de-identified. The User retains ownership of the data; Gap-App does not claim any ownership and will not store the data after the prediction process is complete.

2. Data Confidentiality and Retention:
Gap-App is committed to maintaining the confidentiality of the User's submitted data to the best of our ability. However, Users should be aware that no data transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Gap-App will not retain the gene expression data once the prediction has been made, emphasizing our dedication to user privacy and data protection.

3. Predictions Disclaimer:
Gap-App aims to deliver accurate and reliable predictions. However, due to the inherent limitations of machine learning models and the unpredictable nature of medical data, we cannot guarantee the absolute accuracy, completeness, or reliability of the predictions. The predictions made by Gap-App should be viewed as potential outcomes rather than definitive results. Gap-App is exempt from liability for any inaccuracies or errors in the predictions provided. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE PREDICTIONS ARE PROVIDED WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTY OF QUALITY, MERCHANTABILITY, TITLE, AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. 4. Diagnostic and Treatment Use Disclaimer:
User acknowledges that the predictions provided by Gap-App are not intended for use as a diagnosis or treatment of any condition. This free service is intended to offer supplemental and educational information and does not replace professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

5. Compliance with Laws:
User agrees to comply with all applicable laws and regulations regarding the submission of gene expression data and the use of the machine learning model for pancreatic cancer predictions.

6. Amendment of Terms:
Gap-App reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time.

7. Governing Law:
All questions relating to the validity, interpretation, performance or enforcement of this Agreement, and any claims arising from or related to this Agreement, will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to the principle of conflict of laws. Any litigation arising from or related to this Agreement may be brought only in the federal or state courts of Ohio with appropriate jurisdiction.

By accessing or utilizing Gap-App’s machine learning model, the User acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of this Agreement.
